Too early for a home pregnancy test?

I am one week late and suspect I maybe pregnant. Is it too early for a home pregnancy test? I was going to wait another week but I may as well try now... I know it might not be 100% accurate since its just a home pregnancy test but do you think its worth a shot?
 
I have taken a HPT at a week late, the instructions inside (First Response, i think) Said you could test the day after your missed period. It does become more accurate the longer you wait, however a false positive is VERY rare. So you may as well try and see- I know how hard it is to wait! I think the $ is totally worth it. Good luck!
