Tonsil issues and acid reflux?

I've been having some very slight throat issues for many months now. My tonsils look red and irritated all of the time. Every once in a while I'll have days where it feels like one of my tonsils is swollen, will hurt when I yawn, and my throat will feel a little irritated. Also noticed that I've developed some small holes in my tonsils what weren't there previously. Currently have several white spots on one of my tonsils which are worrying me. I wake up every morning with really bad breath and a white film covering my tounge. This has also coincided with a bunch of GI symptoms as well. I'm having an upper endoscopy next week for continuing abdominal discomfort. Also have burping, hiccups, chest discomfort, and back aches. My doctor thinks it is due to acid reflux. I failed to mentioned the throat issues because I honestly didn't think about it. Could acid reflux be causing my throat issues? Does it sound like seperate issues are occuring or could this somehow be all tied together and not be reflux? The GI symptoms are the ones really bothering me, the throat problems are just a mild annoyance. Any insight would certainly be appreciated.
