So I was diagnosed with GERD. It all started when I was taking this stupid diet pill, and all of a sudden after 3 weeks my esophagus was burning, my tongue was cranked, swolled and red. My tonsils were red and swollen too. Also, I felt something was stuck in my esophagus.
So had endoscopy and doc said I had GERD. Now I am taking twice a day Nexium. Doc will see me in a month to see how am I doing, and maybe drop to 1 pill a day.
The thing is that I always feel this thing under my tongue. It is sensitive, and the layer connecting the tongue with the floor of my mouth, is always white. When I stretch my tongue, it bothers me. Also, the thing under my tongue (is it saliva duct?) it seems enlarged. Sometimes I play with it with my tongue itself and I can seem to touch it (noo! I am not weird, this is serious!)
What is going on?
