tongue blisters

oooh, this gets funner by the day (sarcasm)...anyone get tongue blisters at the back of their tongue? probably not, i am pretty sure i am one of the worst gerd cases ever and my esophagus is so beyond raw.....why do some of us respond to ppis and some don't? i just don't get this...
 
Toungue blisters are a new one to me. SounRAB painful.

Have you tried adding Gaviscon? You can take it with your PPI's. You chew it up and it foams in your mouth before you swallow it. Maybe it would help coat things a bit. (If you haven't tried them yet, a word of advice, avoid the strawberry-banana smoothie..it's horrible.)


I was at my GI doc today. Talked a bit about strategies and he looked at my history. I've tried everything he has to offer and none of the PPI's totally work for me. I take the one that is the "best of the worst" because it does help a bit. Some of the PPI's worked OK, but not great for me while others didn't work at all. I even had one that gave me horrible side-effects that none of the others did.
 
yes, i do take gaviscon :(....*sigh*. I feel like i am on the strictest diet and have been for months, following gerd rules, etc. I just ended acupuncture, after 4 months of that and herbs and alot of money, i saw no reason to continue, i fact i think some of the herbs may have made the reflux worse but its so hard to tell b/c i don't really get burning.
 
Gaviscon - I read about it on this thread and thought it might help me. I have, in addition of acid regurgitation, buring in my gums and and the side of my tongue. After chewing my first tablet and going to sleep, I was awaken by a terrible burning on the tip of my tongue. The only thing different last night, from every other night, was Gaviscon. Has anyone else had this reaction to Gaviscon?
 
interesting...i have noticed my mouth burn more after i take the gaviscon....hmmmmm...and i've been taking it daily for awhile now..

you may be on to something
 
i went to a chinese acupuncturist/herbalist, she gave me many mixed concoctions...many different ones.
 
Do you have a lot of mouth burn or just blisters on the back of your tongue? I have been suffering from burning mouth.gums, tongue for almost 6 months. I can't drink wine or eat anything with citrus. I have seen numerous doctors and dentists..none of which have any answers. I even have the TIF procedure hoping the burning was acid reflux and it would go away. it didn't, nor did the acid reflux. Had to give it a try!
