To what extent does the party matter?

To what extent does the ruling political party really affect the average americans life?

Does anyone really believe in sweeping reform from either party?

Will either party try and curb the power of lobbyists? Will either party ban corporate donations to political parties?

What sweeping changes do you hope for?

Both major parties are essentially the same, so it really don't make much of a difference.
