To US Army Reserve soldiers and vets! How's Annual training (NTC) at Ft.Irwin like?

I'm about to leave for My annual army training in a couple of hours and i want to know how it's like? what do you do? what kind of equipment do you get to use? how's the weather? Landscape? Free time?
 
Ive been to NTC a few times while I was on Active duty... At first, you end up taking your shelter halves to "Tent City." From there you find out what your mission will be, then you roll out.. Could be that day, could be a few days... Free time is before & after your mission in "The box"...

Weather this time of year is HOT!!!! Sand, sharp rocks, rattle snakes...

Oh yeah, and the OPFOR doesn't care what time it is.

Still not as bad as Iraq though.
