I saw your post from 1/7/08 and can definately relate to this same issue!
I had this same surgery done in October of 2007 and my surgeon did not tell me either way I just decided on the spur of the moment to get the hemilaminectomy done. I am 43 now and it was not easy and to this day it still is not I hope you will reply and let me know what you have decided because now my hanRAB and arms are going nurab at night too and yes my back still hurts
