To talk to a guy I don't know, is it bad to "pretend to text the wrong number?"?

Ok so There's a guy that I saw at a football game but we never talked and live in different towns, and have no mutual friends. Therefore, there is no way for me to talk to him and get to know him. So, would it be weird if I text him and pretend I got the wrong number, and then just start talking?

I was in the same situation with one of my ex girlfriends. I broke up with her and now shes obsessed with me. if you ask me its not worth it but if you really want to then just say hey whats up and if he wonders who you are tell him your the girl from the game.
