To someone who knows Suzuki! Should I change my transmission fluid?

I was told that when you change transmission fluid sometimes it starts to leak due to the consistency of the clean fluid. I have a 2003 Suzuki Aerio with 74,000 miles on it. Suzuki's are weird when it comes to maintenance. It might differ with the kind of car I have, but I'd like to know what i might do about my tranny fluid. Should i get it flushed completely with new fluid, just add fluid after draining it, or do nothing? I would love to get ahold of suzuki and ask them, but would i really get an honest answer from them or just upselling?

do NOT get a transmission flush...

it's a bad bad bad idea.

drain the transmission, replace the filter and gasket, then refill with fresh fluid...

edit: beavan, a flush is absolutely unecessary, and will cause debris to be spread throughtout the transmission...it is NOWHERE in any routine maintenence schedule, it's a last ditch attempt for keeping a dying transmission alive...

You can have this service done by just about any local shop or chain, you don't need to find a Suzuki dealer. If your transmission leaks after having it flushed then your transmission already had a problem, the flush could not have caused a leak.
You should have your transmission fluid changed every 30,000 miles and a flush is much more effective then simply draining and refilling. When you drain and refill you leave several quarts of old fluid in the transmission, when they flush it that removes all of the old fluid and particles. A transmission flush costs less then $170 and like someone said, that is better then spending $1500+ on a new transmission...plus its part of your routine maintenance, so do it the right way!
1st guy is wrong, a flush would not spread debris, it removes debris.

Maybe you don't need a flush if you've had the fluid changed every 30K, if not I doubt you will find a single mechanic who won't tell you to flush out all that crap in your transmission.
