I firmly believe in Global Climate Change! It has been happening for many many many years. The Earth's atmosphere has been altered many times by organisms. All of the Oxygen in the air is the result of metabolism from lifeforms. The question at hand today is whether Humankind could be responsible for the fluctuations we are observing today. Although I have little doubt about the possibility of Anthropogenic Global Warming (man made), I cannot under value the observation that Mars' ice caps are also melting without a single combustion engine or person to blame. Now this doesn't throw out the value of conservation as there are many reasons to limit carbon emissions. The biggest reason, I feel, is that the current energy economy is funneling resources from free, liberty loving peoples to dictators, Communists, and Monarchist. Also, decentralized energy production will empower the world's poor, liberating their potential from corporate and bureaucratic manipulation. Free people and free markets have improved energy efficiency and the education provided in free societies has led to lower birthrates. In general, conservation and freedom go hand in hand.
Now back to Global Warming. Let it be academically debated, so long as we maintain that our current understanding is way too limited to begin restricting liberty and freedom in an attempt to change it. The most important thing you can do about Global Climate Change is to maintain an intellectually honest desire to understand it, and alter your own behavior in a way you believe to be helpful. Good Luck!
