We were recently hit by someone running a red light. The impact was on the driver's side.
My son was in a Britax in the back seat behind the passenger seat.
No visible damage to our seat- and we do meet the guidelines for the NHTSA "minor" crash- for the most part. I was sore and hit my head on the window, but did not seek medical treatment.
On the other hand, the insurance adjuster from the other person's insurance company said (after looking at my car) that this would be considered a "moderate" impact crash (versus minor)- I think it seemed to be a minor impact because thankfully the other driver (who was going approx. 30 and didn't slow down at all) hit at one of the strongest parts on the side of the car. In our Britax manual, it states seats should be replaced after any moderate or severe crash. The website states their thoughts on seat replacement a little differently on the site.
