To get an 848 evo or hold off till 2012?

With the Evo coming to stores shortly and the CEO stating there would be a new bike in 2012, is it worth a few upgrades or just hold out till the new release.

The Evo seems to me, as bandage fix to carry Us until the new model releases. Also, with Rossi now helping the development.

As, for me i will wait for 2012(mostly forced), or find a really good deal. it doesnt make since to me knowing a new bike is coming and going out and getting the Evo today.
 
The point is more towards the mild upgrade of the 848 by ducati, knowing they are bringing out a new model in 2012. i guess it more of a marketing/sales thing, maybe its over my head.

I agree, people should buy what they want, thats kind of why i got a 996 over a XX9 model.
 
buy what u want. ya only live once. ride it till 2012, sell it and buy the new model if u want.

i just bought an 08 1098s, i could have bought a '10 1198, but i dont need to keep up w/ the jones's.
 
this is a smart move, You can get a new 1098 for less than a new 848 evo and have the power and torque that goes along with it (not that 848 is lacking)

Now if you really like the 848, I think it is ok for you to get it, 2012 is still along time so if you buy it now, you ahve enough time to enjoy then a few months before the new super bike is released with the "Super quadratta" engine, sell it at a good price and wait for a few months
