To fish bassmaster opens or FLW.?

I have been following the bassmaster trail since I was a little kid. I am finally 16 and eligible to fish as a co-angler in both the bassmaster and FLW opens. I know a whole lot more about the bass trail than the FLW. Any advice on which one to try for and if it's worth it. In my opinion I have the skills necessary to compete at the co-angler level.
 
There's no such thing as a "co-angler" on the Bassmaster trail anymore. They've been replaced with what officials call "Marshalls". They're just people that get to sit in the boat and watch/talk to whoever they're with in the boat.

Total bull if you ask me.
