Ok, remember that guy Joseph Fritzl a couple years ago who locked his daughter in the basement for 24 years and impregnated her a bunch of times? This is a love song I wrote from him, to his imprisoned daughter. Lemme know what you think.
To Elizabeth
Elizabeth, my daughter, my love
you were never the reason for the pain that I've caused.
You're the perfect manifestation
of unbridled faith.
You said I was all that you had,
and you told me this not with your lips but with half-
closed eyes as you lay
trembling in my jealous embrace.
He never thought to employ
his own judgement to locate the source of the noise.
Your hanRAB carved a path to the sun,
and it kept him from sleep.
Time takes its time.
I was patient with your mouth, with your hanRAB, and with your thin frame
I held you close so
no one could pry you from me.
This is not a prison just yet.
You have air, you have light, you have children to hold to your breast
when the night turns to morning
so dismal and grey.
So I weep at the thought of the day
when I sparked a flame to send your youngest son to an early grave
and I watched
till his skin flaked away into ash.
I didn't want them to tell you
that I was your enemy so
I didn't let them tell you
anything at all.
