I know it's been a week or two since the original post but I wanted to chime in....
There have been reported issues regarding SMS. One of the issues is SMS can be sent but is not being received. When the messaging starts back up devices are flooded with messages. RIM has released SMS outages to the carriers. I happened to get the info from RIM when I had a non SMS issue. The tmobile service rep I talked to also verified the issue on that same day and said it has been a reoccuring event
