Tmobile G2 advice on insurance?

I have a tmobile g2 and its in great condition but it turns of randomly sometimes maybe once or twice a day and it just forced closed the android system and i had to take the battery out to get it back on and when i turned it on all my contacts were erased - good thing i have them saved in my gmail account - i have insurance for this phone, do you think i should just get a brand new G2
