Ok I decided to get slick and go in and change my internet plan from the 29.99 plan to the 19.99 blackberry internet plan.

Whoa.... no internet access. No Exchange push sync. etc etc.

What gives???? I am on the phone with data support now acting dumb to see if they say something besides what I expect them to say.

None that I have seen, really what was said above (difference of $10 and Hotspots) is the only difference. Oh and the apn must be wap.voicestream.com for the BB plan, Total internet can have wap, internet2 or internet3.voicestream.com. All have the ports open and no limit on downloads, streaming, etc.

I don't know where you got the $29.99 price from. I just checked T-Mobile's website (in a Chicago zip code) and the HotSpot add-on is only $19.99 a month, which includes unlimited internet.

Edit: I just noticed this thread is about 4 months old. T-Mobile may have changed some things since July.

That does not include unlimited GPRS / EDGE data. Read it in full. It says ".. at locations such as Starbucks, Borders, etc..."

Total Internet is $29.99.

Well there is one drawback to the BB plan and while it may not matter to most people it should be mentioned.

Apparently no ports are blocked except for the port(s) that Realplayer/Helix uses to stream audio and video via the RSTP protocol. So if you try to stream audio or video using the built-in Realplayer application it simply doesn't work. At least that is what I read and it also jives with my experience.
