Don't take G1 on a trip out of the U.S., or you'll pay for it. Per IW:

very interesting.....

i currently have the curve with tmoble and i'm not sure how it would work out in europe or other countries BUT i did go to mexico ... cancun/puerto aventuras to be exact and at the resort there was wifi which i used to go on my browser and was receiving my emails and such. ALSO.. i went to my country of El Salvador in September and also used wi-fi wherever available and i was able to do the same thing. OF COURSE i turned off the mobile network and was only using wi-fi.

I was just glad i didn't incur any extra charges for that. i called to find out some information and didn't have ANY international roaming or nothing like that turned on. well just wanted to share my experience. i don't know if the G1 has wi-fi or not.

i'm switching to verizon and getting my storm today and it does suck that i won't have wi-fi for situations like that but oh well..

for going overseas there is a featre it's 20$ more a month and it lets you use your blackberry overseas. no the berry wont do what the g1 does. so it won't charge you for just leaving it on
