Title of a book on The Batman which covers multiple stories, isn't a comic

and tells about Joker as a child? The book has several stories that it tells, it isn't a graphic novel, but rather each chapter is a different story...there's a story about a child that kills animals and kills a kid with a hammer (supposed to be the joker as a child) and another story where joker, poison ivy and the batman all go to the same tailor. I read this book back in the late 90s and can't for the life of me remember the name.

Does it sound familiar to anyone?
