I've been a big fan of the UFC and MMA for a long time now but something that has always confused me is how someone becomes eligible to fight for a title. For instance a guy like Brock Lesnar only has a 5 - 2 record, yet has held two titles. I know this might seem like an amateur type of question but Ive never honestly heard it explained before. Any help is appreciated.
