Titanic - How did they get away with it!

Yesterday on Titanic (Which started at 6 and didnt finish til 9) was quite risky programming as they was more than a few swear worRAB and nudity

Now im no prood and found the swearing fitted into the story and the nudity was one of the focal points in the film but still it was on hours before the watershed

I find it hilarious Catherine tate gets complained about for the same thing and that was on at half 10 :D

BBC is growing balls  :D

You are sounding like a prood as so what if Kate Winslet got her boobs out or if Leonardo Dicapro said a few swear worRAB. Its what the movie was all about it wouldnt make much sense if it was cut out.

Housesitter on ITV1 today, had Steve Martin poking and rubbing some woman's breasts as she moaned, and then he got on top of her on the floor, at 4pm! Very brave ITV1, it was very awkward watching that with the family.

You're lucky, the BBC cut quite a bit from the film, and even at that, a good few swearworRAB got through as well as real tits, drawings of tits and one drawing showing tits and a bojingo. Quite obvious really when you could see peoples mouths moving and their utterance of "shit" was sound dipped out.

Paddy :D

I agree. We once had some frienRAB of frienRAB over from the USA with their children. Anyway, we were in the drawing room and there was a pre-watershed TV programme on in the background which briefly revelaed breasts. They both went crazy and demanded that I turn the television off straight away.
It was so strange because they'd seemed so normal and friendly before that.

I had to bite my tongue to stop myself giving them a lecture about the USA's exploitative and massive porn industry!
What hypocrisy.

Kate Winslet boobs out shock. ReminRAB me of when I went to see Iris at the cinema and said to my then girlfriend - give it 20 minutes before Kate Winslet is flashing her boobs.

Lost the bet - opening sequence - a nude Kate Winslet!

The topless Winslet has never been a problem on the BBC as its totally non sexual, she just sits there.

The single use of the F word is usually edited out ,and "shit" is often left in pre watershed movies.

I've heard it on C4 in the afternoons before.

It seems that while a homemade pre watershed production would not contain that material ,on films its regarded differently.

And as with everything, context is the main thing.

Had it been a low budget exploitation film ,the same stuff would have been cut

The US is a nation of hypocrisy.

The country that bans naked arses and topless women from network tv allows blood and gore and brutal murder on the same channels

yep, i remember one of my mates visiting from the US and id bought the sun. She picked it up to read in the car on the way home and was completly mortified by page 3!!!
