Tires won't stop leaking. Faulty rims perhaps?

My mom's '06 Buick Lucerne CXL has 70k miles on it with a brand new set of tires put on it 20k miles ago. Well, just recently, it's been in the shop 3 times already for leaky tires. Once for a rim leak, once for a bad valve, and once for a replacement tire due to a screw puncturing the tire near the sidewall. This is all within a span of a couple of months. All the tires are in good shape... no tread separation, no dry rot, no excessive or irregular wear, nothing. I have to refill 2 of the tires every 2 days and it's getting annoying. I'm thinking if the one tire had a rim leak, chances are the two tires I'm having trouble with also have the same problem. That being said, I wonder if any other Lucernes like my moms have the same problem with their rims... the 17" 9 spoke chrome ones. Does anyone know if this is a common problem?
