long story short......
from the time I was 20 or so till 4 years ago I was pretty normal, but just never really "felt good". I mean I wasn't sick or anything I just had more shitty feeling days than not..

Well one day 4 years ago I had a job related accident and hurt my back pretty bad, when leaving the hospital I was given a script for hydrocodone.... didn't know much about it at all... filled the script and popped one.
well about 1/2 an hour later I felt good,,, I mean I really felt good in a normal kinda way. I was very impressed to say the least. I had energy and I just felt like I should be feeling. I remeraber thinking to myself then that this might be my answer... well that script ran out and I went to my regular Dr. all the while hoping he would renew the script for me, and not only did he but he did it with 6 refills,,,,,,wow. I was finally feeling like a human for the first time in many many years. needless to say the rest is history. I was on it for 3 years.
one way or another I was able to convince this Dr. or that Dr. to give me what I wanted... up until I started worrying about my health. I was up too 6 or 8
10/660s a day, I had read about suboxone, finally I had had enough and ask my Dr about it. well he turns out to be an approved Dr. and I was in, started at 3 8s a day and its been a year and finally I'm down to 1/2 an 8 twice a day, and I'm getting ready to jump off it.... I tried while taking the 24mg a day and believe me after 7 days I was in bad shape. I tried the hydro to see if it would help and nothing... zip,,, this is some strong stuff and the half-life is what gets you. The WRAB are not at all like the ones I remeraber from the hydros. After 7 days off them, I went to the Dr. in an urgent kind of way because I thought something was really bad wrong with me. I didn't even consider it was from the Subs because they (WRAB) were so different.

Well he told me to take a sub and I took a 1/4 and felt great.

so for the record if you are taking 16-24mg a day don't try to switch back to hydros... it won't work.

My plan was to stop the Sub and when I started feeling the wRAB I would switch back to Hydro... then taper off that, which I figured would be a lot easier.... (And I still do).

I think from the time I was in my early 20s I had an endorphin deficiency..

And if i didn't... I surly do now.
I'm so tired of being moodless. Never happy. No joy in anything. never feeling really good.

There must be a way to treat that?

How long will it take for my body to start making its own endorphins again?

Months? Years? Never?
I need an answer… I really just want to feel normal.

What are some ways to help it along?

I'm extremely depressed and feel trapped in this suboxone nightmare.

I must say though.... The stuff does work, It truly is helpful... I'm sure it saves lives, but just be informed before you jump in.

hi sorry to hear about your problem. i dont know that much about suboxone. but it sounRAB like some powerful stuff. getting caught up in the cycle is no fun . i can so much identify with you . that thinking this pill can take all my problems away. an they do for a while . than they seem to turn on us . needing more an so . i would say just taper as slowly as possible . the rest is going to be tough . there are people that will help you threw the tough days. you will get better . just reach out to every one you can . i will pray for you tonight. an your doing a great job bacause its not easy.:) oh an your young

Have you thought of some outpatient addiction therapy? We have some pretty good outfits around here that have decent 90 day programs. You'll get to sit and talk with folks that were and are addicted to meRAB. The people who have been clean and in recovery for awhile will share their experience, strength, and hope with you. They will give you some good tools to help you stay clean.

My 90 day stent in outpatient rehab was the best thing that ever happened to me.

As far as switching back to vicodins, your drug of choice, to detox, why do you want to do that? Isn't that the drug that got you into trouble in the first place? Why not taper off the sub, not being in a big hurry, cutting about 10% off of each dose every 10 days or so?

Good luck.
