I need a tire gage also. I have several now and all of them show varying pressures which mondo pisses me off.
Here's the difficult point. Who makes one that is indeed accurate and won't fall out of calibration once it hits the floor umpteen times. I don't care how big it is as I don't carry one when riding. Digital is theoretically a good choice but many lack temperature and atmospheric pressure compensation. Ok, aneroid compensation is rarely incorporated and is a minor nit picking point but this does allow a bit of drift.
Not that I'm approaching it from a scientific lab grade mentality but we all have seen up to a + - 5 pound or more difference in readings. I'd rather not buy a .5 or 1% traceable/certified blah blah, steam gage $$$, to use as a calibration tool on the compressor.
