...city for university/college? I'm currently on my gap year in a small town working at a job I don't particularly like. I always only planned on taking one year off to get extra time to choose which university couse I'd like to do next year.
I think not only my parents, but whole family assume I'll end up going to a university which is only about an hour away (the closest to where I live) because it's the logical and easiest choice. The more I think about it, the more I dream of going to (or at least try to go to) a university in the city which means I'd need to move out because it's about 3.5 hours away.
I'm just not sure how to bring it up. As I mentioned, everyone thinks I'll just go to the closest university to me which is also cheaper and probably the smarter choice despite my desire to study and work in the city.
Nobody in my family has ever gone to university or know how it works and none of my family has ever lived in the city. They're happy living in the coutry and I can see the first question coming back to me "What's wrong with here?"
