Tips for winning poetry contests?

I've been writing poetry as a hobby for about the past four years. I've entered two or three contests and I'd like to enter more. My poems have earned a lot of praise, even from my english teachers, but they don't seem to cut it for big contests (mostly online.)

For any poets who have won, what are your tips? I need some help.
