Tip broke off in the AUX port on my deck...

Well, here's what I ended up doing:

First, I took the "good" side of the AUX wire and yanked the end off like the broken one. I dabbed a bit of CA on the end of the plug, and stuck the broken pin back in. I was able at that point to see if there was too much glue. Indeed there was, so I knew I'd have to use less. I then waited for the CA to cure, and tried to pull the pin back out. It stayed secure.

After my little experiment, I put a tiny dab of glue on the broken plug and inserted it into my deck. I left and went to a buddy's house to bash our RC cars for a while. After I came home, I pulled the plug gently out. SUCCESS!! The pin isn't fully in the plug, but it stuck enough to pull it out.

So, if it happens to you, know that this method may work for you as well.

Thanks for your suggestions.

You could also take it to a locksmith and have them try a key extractor. Hard to see from the pic but it's basically a small stiff wire with a smaller wire wrapped around it in a spiral. Just insert it into a tiny gap, then pull it out the extractor with pliers.

I used them successfully many times to extract broken keys when I was a locksmith. As long as there's space to insert the extractor, it should work for the aux plug.
