Tingling throat

Hi there, Ok, I have this tingling in my throat and my tongue etc. It's like pins and needles and it came on one day while at work. It was a pretty big deal to me anyway....all of a sudden I felt this horrible pickly feeling in my throat on both sides. Then - for the past two weeks it has continued. I find I keep my tongue on the roof of my mouth while breathing, my mouth feels like it has been burned by super hot food. What could this possibly be?

Go to a doctor right away, this could be a sign of nerve damage.

Whatever is causing the nerve inflammation has to be stopped or the damage will become permanent.

Good luck, I hope you just burned your tongue on some hot pizza! Better safe than sorry.

Thanks, yesterday was a better day, but it's hard to know what is going on. I would think that after 3 weeks it would be gone. I do have some post nasal stuff going on, but I can fell the tingling from the tip of my right ear lobe down to the part of my throat that tingles. It's just so strange that it came on so quickly - I would think that nerve damage would be progressive and not so sudden. I do have an Dr appointment on Tuesday. I am hopeful for some kind of resolution. I wonder how you could get nerve damage in your throat????

Ok, update...went to the Dr and she is exploring post nasal drip - only the thicker version. We did check my thyroid and my blood suger due to my excessive need for thirst and dry mouth, along with my persistent tiredness. So....we shall see what those results are. I am guessing they are fine. The throat, well, she suggested a decongestant - if it isn't gone in like 10 days or so - go back. So that's the story for now.
More to come, stay tuned.
