Had a friend replace the timing belt water pump Ect. and at the same time i replaced the spark plugs with Bosch dual tip platinum spark plugs, the spark plugs had a longer tread length then the stock motorcraft spark plugs.
after this, the engine did not run smooth, so the mechanic adjusted the ideal and told me the timing "might" be a tooth off and razing the ideal would smooth the engine. the ideal was razed and it was kinda smooth after i took it home the ideal lowered it self probably the computer compensating or something. the check engine light came on so i had it checked at a autozone it code it came out with was P1506 witch explained that the engine is at a higher speed then desired.
seeing this i thought it might just be the spark plugs maybe they where not firing right so i relapsed them with motorcraft platinum stock spark plugs and the check engine light went away the engine ran a little better but to be safe i took it to a certified shelby dealer whose friend of my dads he looked at it and told me it sounded ok and i probably fixed the problem.
he also said that the spark plugs might have hit the piston and he asked me if i seen any dent marks on the spark plugs, of course there weren't dented or damaged.
now 2 days after he told me it was ok, the engine sounds like it wants to stall again and the check engine light just came back on i dont know what to do now who do i take it to to get timed right with out having to split open the engine.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank You.?
