does, or ever existed? Now, the choice is up to you, you can be for or against the existence of (the Christian) God and/or Jesus. I want you to argue you stance on the matter using whatever you think will support your stance. Feel free to post links, excerpts, quotes, etc. (so long as they pertain to the topic).

(This debate only relates to the belief or disbelief of the Christian deity/deities. If you worship an altogether separate god, unless you're arguing against, please don't support a belief that don't pertain to either stance.)

This is a debate, as such I'm not going to post my personal convictions. Feel free to address other debaters by username. This is a honest debate, let's try not to degrade ourselves here, act like adults. I will be choosing a Best Answer based on how well you argue your stance. Which side you choose has no effect on your eligibility to receive "Best Answer".

Biblical contradiction:

JOH 10:30 I and my Father are one.

JOH 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

if god or jesus existed god would have been the most evil person ever..

"He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the son shall not see life, but the wrath of god rests upon him." - John 3:36

gives you free will and the "right" to choose to believe or not, but if we dont believe he kills us.

i do not believe in him, and i will never believe in him...

"Therefore fathers shall eat their sons in the midst of you and sons shall eat their fathers...I will send famine and wild beasts against you and they shall rob you of your children; pestilence and blood shall pass through you; and I will bring a sword upon you. I, the Lord, have spoken." - Ezekiel 5:10, 5:17

god and jesus were for war and slaughter.

"And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one."
..........Luke 22:36

"Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother- in-law...."
:Matthew 10:34

"Lighthouses are more helpful than churches." - Benjamin Franklin

Jesus, the man, may have existed.

No evidence of any god either way, there's not really much to debate there.

Does the christian god exist? Depends what you mean by existence. He certainly exists in the minds and hearts of the 2.1billion christians in the world; he brings the same joy to them as my very real friends and family do to me. Is there an actual spirit up there? I would argue no. I see no irrefutable evidence to support a sentient deity; as such, there is no reason provided to justify my believing.

Whether or not he was God's son, we'll never stop arguing.

But he ABSOLUTELY existed. Go read Josephus.

"If it looks like God does not exist, quacks like God does not exist, then there is a good chance he does not.... Proof is not required to believe. But some sign, some evidence is needed. None exists....Find some inkling of evidence. There is none."
- Victor Stenger

I believe Jesus existed

As to whether God exists or whether Jesus is God or is His son, I'm undecided

God, no. Jesus, yes.
You can't really prove a negative, but you can't prove that there aren't vampires, either. You just have to assume that if there's no evidence of something existing, it probably doesn't.
As for Jesus, there are lots of documents, etc., saying that he existed. He wasn't the son of God, but he was a real person.
