FOR CRAPS SAKE, READ ALL OF THIS WILL YOU?

Hi there! So, ever since I was little, i've always wanted a fish. I got a betta, then I went on fish OVERDRIVE. I started doing all of this planning, it went from aquarium to terrarium, and after months of planning,I came across something that changed everything.

A fish with a friggen personality.

And he was a baby tiger oscar.

I went on tiger oscar RAGE ever since then. I have to say it, the little guy was adorable. Dont get me wrong at all, this isnt on impulse, since I went for two months with this little fish nagging at the back of my mind. I did research and banged my head against the table in frustration when I couldnt find my answers, so, guess what? This is my last resort.

By far, I've decided I'm going for a 55 gallon. Dont nag me about it please. All I really have for an idea of stock would be the Oscar, and I'm perfectly okay with having just him in there, although a bit disappointed(Face it, I volunteered to raise this little guy(soon to be big). Everything will have to be with him in mind).

I know a pleco(LARGE) would be good for him, but I dont know if they would fit. A 55 is supposedly pushing it with Oscars anyway.

Will the Oscar nom larger goldfish? Would a dragon fish be okay in there?

If introduced when a baby, can a baby oscar show mercy to a gold/blue gourami?

To add on to the last question, if introduced young, can a baby oscar adjust to smaller cichlids? I'm talking African or South american, take your pick, i wont be mixing.

How long can I leave a baby oscar unfed?(I'm not trying to be cruel, this is for vaca only. I bet the longest he'll ever be alone is one and a half weeks)

AM I CRAZY?

(...er, well, the last one might be a little true.)

I await your answers! i love those little/big fish now, and I love em enough to where if I cant support them, I just wont get em. :D
