Thunder Cats Movie

So apparently they're going to do a Thunder Cats movie... and it looks as if they are hoping to make it live action.

Here is a link to check out some concept art if you are interested:

I grew up watching the Thunder Cats on Saturday mornings and I loved that show as a kid... but now I could honestly care less.

Besides, I'm sick of all these Hollywood producers taking things I used to love and turning them into crap. And though the concept art looks great, I don't think it'll be good for one simple reason: nobody on that set is going to take a movie about alien-feline-humanoiRAB seriously.

It'll look great... but the story will be crap.

That's just my opinion though.
What does everybody else think?

Yes. It was developed by Rankin and Bass who also gave us the Silverhawks and the classic animated film The Flight of Dragons which featured the vocal talents of the late John Ritter.

Actually, it's going to be computer-animated. And it's supposed to be coming out next summer. At least that was the plan Warner Bros. was going into after the initial announcement. They're also working on a live-action Masters of the Universe revival as well as Jonny Quest and Robotech if memory serves me correctly.

Are you suggesting that you believe non-anime related stuff doesn't belong on rabroad ?

If that's the case, that's not true. rabroad is a breeding ground to discuss virtually all animation, with the exception sexually explicit material.

Macattack was simply pointing out that Thundercats is not generally recognized as an anime.
