serious answers/spare the preaching/ speak with facts
thank you all in advance
Jake thank u so much for the diagnosis

Christians that persecute others are not Christians, so knowledgeable Christians have never been the persecutors. Persecution of Christians however, still goes on.

Both, especially depending on the place. Christianity is still legally discriminated against in parts of the world.

I don't understand why one must choose one. They were persecuted when they were a minority and persecuted when they were the majority.

Christians have been the persecutors look at what happened with Africans that was brought and sold and forced to forget their religion and culture to live as a christian

Both. Religion was the political system during many of those wars/crusades. Its hard to equate that to today's system of government but if you look at it politically during those times it makes it easier to rationalize though still sick.

Both

people who claimed they were christians persecuted people and killed them in the name of God.

people who were not violent and did not persecute any one were also persecuted and killed for their faith.

So actually it was both

"Christians that persecute others are not Christians, so knowledgeable Christians have never been the persecutors. Persecution of Christians however, still goes on."

"Communists that kill and oppress others are not Communists, so knowledgeable Communists have never been murderers or oppressors. Oppression of Communists however, still goes on."

"Muslims that kill and oppress others are not Muslims, so knowledgeable Muslims have never been murderers or oppressors. Oppression of Muslims however, still goes on."

Do you see how hypocritical that sounds?

And yes, it has been both ways, while they mostly persecuted others.

They were persecuted for a couple of centuries. Then, Constantine said, "I'm a christian, and so are all of you." They've been going nuts ever since.

Overall, the Christians have been the persecuters.

They were only persecuted during the time immediately following the death of Jesus.

They have more than made up for it by now.

A little of one (persecuted), a lot of the other (persecutors). depending on the time period it happened.

Early Christians were PROSECUTED by the Romans (not persecuted) for violating certain laws that were applied to other Roman subjects equally. Some may have claimed persecution, but it doesn't fit.
Persons who claimed to be Christian are responsible for many offenses, such as the Inquisition. If you search on "Wicca Custody Case", you will find many articles about people losing their children because Christian neighbors, judges, and social workers don't like non-Christians (and for NO other reason, not even the false charges leveled against the parents). Non-Christians lose their jobs for the same reasons.

In Saudi Arabia, you can go to prison for having a Bible in your suitcase.

So, it goes both ways, but "Christians" do a lot of these things, and whine "I'm being persecuted" more than they actually are.

It has gone both ways. Unfortunately many people have been tortured and killed by supposed Christ followers and, obviously, there has been and always will be the persecution of Christians as well.
