Nothing to worry about. Those are HTML color codes. Your friend is using a blend or fade made up of 2 colors (blue and green in this case). For some reason the chat feature of Yahoo Mail does not recognize their fade. I know you cannot create a fade or blend in yahoo mail chat but you can in yahoo messenger as well as in most 3rd party chat clients.
