I really want to join the British Army.
I recently received my Army Medical Questionnaire back from my GP. I am not sure if I can look through it but did as, if he'd missed anything I could get it sent back to him to correct. But upon checking everything was filled in. I noticed several points which I think has completely screwed over my chances of joining.
I have already mentioned myself that I have suffered over the past few years with depression and anxiety. On and off. One point included self harm (I know that does not completely disqualify as it stated in the guidelines over two attempts of self harm does... It was once and will be once completely)
My mother has long term mental health problems, She has Bi Polar Affective Disorder which the doctor has mentioned in my questionnaire.
He also put in extra notes that he believes that because of this my involvement could trigger this off in myself and the demands would worsen my depression.
I always thought that bi polar wa not genetic and the same doctor had told me the same. also in the past that army involvement wouldn't be a problem as I'm controlling it. but now he's put that.
Could anyone just help me with this. My partner told me to send off the questionnaire and leave it for the army to say, but I just dont want to waste their time if no need.
