Basically, there's some relative or close loved one that has done something to disappoint you, but you've given up fighting with them and have accepted whatever it is theyre doing that upsets you? Did I get it right? Although I have to ask, what do the first two lines mean? They don't fit with the rest of it!???!!!??!!!?!!???!??!!!

This was never expected of you
droll more than dull
they'd have predicted
but poor old you's gone to join the flock
limping off cowardly
what did they say at the costume shop
bet theyd never seen a black sheep renting
a white wool costume before
more than a facade i'd say
a full blown charade
sure to end in a fiasco of some sorts
mind you it doesnt bother me
it's just, well, lies of this proportion seem almost indelicate
quite the machiavellian you've grown up to be i see
Do what you please,
revel in your chosen mediocrity.

what do you think?

i can't say i fully understand it but i do like it. your word choices are powerful and give your poem a strong image. i really like the part about the costume shop and the black sheep. very interesting connotation. the whole thing is quite mysterious but that is what gives it a 'hook'. keep on writing :)

I think this person has a close friend that has just began to follow the flock! By which I mean the person used to be indepent of those sort but now he/she has began to mingle with the wrong people and has started causing harm. But I think you have chosen that this friend isn't right for you anymore and you have chosen to move on.

It's a very good poem altough I didn't understand it fully!
