2004 Yamaha R6. Always had fully synthetic oil in it and I have heard nothing but fantastic things about Amsoil.

Bike runs extremely well, shifts good but I am due for an oil change next month so I'm thinking of trying them out. I also live in Phoenix, Arizona. It was 102 degrees a few days ago so what weight should I use? I heard for street riding, use a thin type oil but not too thin. Like 10W-30 or 10W-40. For my weather, the manual calls for 20W-40 but would that be too thick for it? What would you recommend and what are your thoughts on Amsoil oil if you have experience with them? Thanks.

I've never heard anything bad about Amsoil, but at the same time it seems overpriced. I run Rotella 15W-40 year round in my FZR-600, perfect smooth shifts every time, endorsed by many sport bike owners. Cheap too, buy it in the large jug
