I thought my car was repoed last Dec. I was 4 months behind on the payments. the repo guys came several times... then the car disappeared, so I assumed they took it. I didn't hear anything from the repo guys/bank until last week. The car was registered to my company, not to me personally. The Finance Company got the court to issue a "writ of possession" and they left some kind of notice at a family members house, while he was at work. It says something about the sheriff's office on it. I think these guys are coming to my house next. the writ of possession had my company listed as the defendant, my name wasn't on it anywhere. I know I can stay in the house and not deal with these guys, even if the cops are out there, because this is a civil matter... not like they can kick my door in and drag me out. My problem is I have no idea where the car is, figured they repoed it a year ago, and canceled my insurance and registration right after the car disappeared, I also ran my credit report in Jan, and the car loan showed "Paid and closed" so I had no reason to think anything other than the bank repoed... what happens from here? what do I do?
