I think I am what you would call portly (waist bigger than chest) and I need to purchase a Sport Coat on a budget. Of these two options which would be best and why? Going to a local suit store, getting measured and buying the corresponding sized Sport Coat from JC Penney with a coupon for $70 or Going to Men's Wearhouse and buying one for $150 and then paying to have it altered? I have seen them and I believe the quality is similar. Is the altering really necessary? I am a college student who needs it for Model UN and probably a couple job interviews after I graduate next fall. I will be a teacher so I won't need to wear a jacket regularly so it would be rare that it gets worn. Any thoughts.
PS: I know I am fat so please don't simply tell me to lose weight. Be respectful of this and every forum you visit because one day someone will no doubt hack everyone's id and be able to read everything you have ever written. Or would you really want to not get a job because the employer decided to google your email address and found nasty posts? The internet is not as anonymous as you think.
