i have a 9 week old shih-tzu. its like a pound right now. and he will not stop whining in the morning. it can start from 6am and will last till 10am. its rediculous. me and my bf are losing so much sleep. we have been downing aspirin every morning and night. He used to whine at night but we took care of that because we made sure we wouldnt let him sleep, we kept waking him up so that he is really tired and had him sleep real late around 1 or 2 so that he could wake up later but that didn't work so well. it only spared us an hour.
i keep him in the bathroom with the door open, but i have something blocking the doorway so he can't get over. and i have a pee pad, a bed, a crate, toys, freshwater, and a nightlight. i've got everything in there. i even got him a ticking clock that i put inside his bed when he sleeps. but that doesnt seem to help him one bit when he wakes up!!!!. what am i suppose to do with this puppy?
im guessing its housebreaking issue. what can i ddoooo????
ok so im getting two types of answers. one is to leave him whining and dont give in. the other is to give in and let him sleep next to me. i dont want to give in because then its like spoiling the dog and the dog will get used to it. but then if i dont he wont shut up. and he uses the pee pad, not like he doesnt. he pees on there all the time. no where else. i use the crate when we go out only. i have a doggy bed that he sleeps on and when he needs to pee he comes out and walks across the bathroom and pees on the pad. He DOES have a large stuff animal. its his favorite pig thats nice and cuddly. i give it a clock, music, and light. before when it whined i'd go pick it up or bring it into my bed. but he's not potty trained when he comes into my room. he's only potty trained when he's in the bathroom. i only let him sleep with me at night then when hes fast alseep i would put him back in the bathroom
