this stupid phone is driving me crazy! w580i sony ericsson trying to transfer pics!

HELPHELP? ok, ive been orking wit my phone for an hour and i just cant figure out how to download pics from my phone to my PC. i have a dell PC and a SONY ERICSSON w580i slider thats pink and i cant transfer! i hoooked up the USB coord and selected "transfer files" on my PHONE and in my manual it says that this thing called "Windows Explorer" is supposed to come up and i can just drag and drop pics but it doesnt happen. can anyone help me please?!!!
 
i think you need to install usb driver or something like that ( i dont remember it now) but you can send them as pic msg to your email.
