This question is addressed to secondary education students who don't try hard...

...in school. Why don't you? I am a secondary education teacher of over 20 years, and I just don't get how students can act like the future simply doesn't matter. If you are a teenager, and you don't try in school, explain to me why you don't. To what extent do you feel pressured by friends not to do well?
It must at least occasionally occur to you that you won't live with your parents forever; at some time you will want a life that is free from poverty and has as much comfort as possible. How will such a life be possible without an education? This isn't a lecture. Please take it in the spirit given
