Check engine light comes on, side effects are speedometer dies, timing retards, cooling fan comes on. What I know so far. . . Inside the transmissions SIDE pan there are 3 electrical components, 2 sensors and one solenoid, I found that the green and brown wires leading to those three components were bare and touching each other. I fixed that promblem still comes and goes. could one of the 3 components be fried and now messing with the ecm?

Bob you answered with. . . . .So what are the check engine light error codes? The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is mounted on the automatic transmission and drives the speedometer. Drivers in the computer may be burned out if the solenoids they drive are shorted. That's one thing you check when you install a new ECM. The ECM installation instructions tell you to measure each computer driver port to make sure the load (like a solenoid) isn't shorted out which will damage the computer

My question now is this. . . .If there is a driver fried in the ECM wont it throw a whole bunch of trouble codes when I pull codes? And yes I intend to clear them and run it till the light comes on before I pull codes.
Ok i think that is all the questions I had for you I wish I could IM you.
