So, I have been on birth control for well over 5 years now. The patch, 3 weeks wearing it, 1 week off. During the one week off, the "period" happens (which is actually not a period, but rather a withdrawal symptom from the chemicals and hormones the patch secretes into the body, but usually looks and acts like a lighter version of the pre-birth control period). I have experienced lighter periods, no period, extra periods, etc in the normal use of the patch, nothing outside the "norm" as mentioned in the multiple pages of information I can find on the subject. It is late, and contacting my doctor is not logistically feasible right now, and I want to know, should I go to the ER, should I buy a pregnancy test, or should I just go see him tomorrow? Anyway, this is my issue: I have had no cramping (yay, omigosh yay, but really abnormal for me, even on the patch), and instead of the somewhat heavy dark flow i normally get, it is bright pink, looks sort of mucous-y, and is a very, very light flow...barely more than daily discharge. I don't understand. Am I pregnant? Am i anemic? Is there an infection going on? What the heck?
