Neither do I....It's the style. Makes you wonder how many Californians rely mainly on AE/Hollister/Abercrombie for their Cali Livin Beach Bum gear or whatever else these chains are selling...
I work at American Eagle, and we're doing the same thing. Right now, for the ''summer collection,'' the products are heavily oriented with a ''California'' or ''Surf'' theme. Other items we sell display a ''New York'' theme....but our paychecks are sent out from Warrendale, Pennsylvania.
I worked in fast food before they hired me, so of course I took the job in a heartbeat.
What they don't know is I HATE the clothes. If I didn't work at the mall, I'd never even set foot there. Can't wait to find something else...
This ''hippie chic'' crap we also sell is an insult after years of shopping on Shakedown Street.
To the two who thumbed me down: Yes, that's right. I despise your interpretation of fashion and style. It's cheap. It's stupid. It's mediocre, and IT IS FAKE. Any sixteen-year-old can now walk into AE and buy her tie-dye and moccasins, 'cos it's, like, vintage, and cool, and like, totally hawt. I want to look like a hippie!!! And now I do, and I never even needed to explore or live out the true Bohemian ideal for myself! Hooray, I'm chic and sexy! I'm only interested in what a fashion mogul tells me looks good!
Thinking for yourself gives you wrinkles!
I've got to admit it, approximately 80% of the customers I deal with are some of the flakiest, intellectually impaired individuals I've ever encountered. Here's a tip, AE shoppers.....REAL college radio doesn't play Britney. The entire shopping mall culture is a tasteless joke.
