Which European dictator was the biggest threat to peace in the 1930’s?

The biggest threat to peace in the 1930’s was in my opinion Hitler, the least threat to peace was Stalin, and in the middle of them was Mussolini.

The reason for me putting Hitler at the top of the list of threats to peace is:
First of all he gained power by trickery, when the German parliament building was burned down he blamed it on the communist party, once he had the majority of seats in the German parliament and was elected the German chancellor and the German prime minister died making Hitler “Fuhrer” he started imprisoning opposition parties and putting them into labour camps and eliminated all other parties. Secondly he was building up his armed forces way past the limits of the treaty of Versailles (The treaty signed after World War One), in this treaty it said that Germany could not have more than 100,000 soldiers and they could not be in certain places, Hitler placed his soldiers in the Rhineland which was a place he was not allowed to place his soldiers and then he started to increase the numbers of his armed forces way beyond what the Treaty of Versailles limited, he also built up an air force which was strictly forbidden by the treaty of Versailles, and even though Hitler knew this he paraded it in public. Then Hitler started occupying land in Europe, first of all was the Rhineland, this was a piece of land which bordered with France, the French had put this in the treaty of Versailles so that there would be a bit of distance between France and Germany to stop any future attacks, the French and English did nothing to stop Hitler putting his troops on this part of land. After this Hitler invaded the Sudetenland, which was part Czecho-Slovakia because it had three million German speakers. Hitler justified this by saying it was the last piece of land that he wanted, so the English, French and USSR gave him the authority to take this peace of land, not to long afterwards Hitler also invaded the rest of Czecho-Slovakia. This meant that Hitler had lied to the league of nations when he said that the Sudetenland was the last piece of land that he wanted and was now pushing what he was doing past the limit, France had already asked Britain to help it stop Hitler occupying the Rhineland but Britain said no, Hitler had already caused a lot of tension with France and had also lied to the league of nations when he said he would occupy no more land and then did. That is my reasoning for putting Hitler at the top of the list of biggest threats to peace in the 1930’s.

Bottom of my list is Stalin, my reasoning for this was that he was not building up his armed forces much and he was focusing mostly on building up his own country. Stalin gained power by taking over the communist party after it’s first leader died, this was not a very violent way to gain power. The way he was building up his country though was not so peaceful, he was really overworking people, he made posters saying “Our heroes did twenty men’s work in one shift” anyone that did not meet these targets was accused of “sabotage” and was arrested and put into a labour camp where they built things for the government, most new things in Russia had been built by prisoners in these labour camps, also Stalin had been very violent, one of his own top advisors had to go into exile because Stalin no longer trusted him. Most things that were happening in Russia though were good and not a threat to peace, however later on in the thirties Stalin signed a non-aggression pact with Hitler, and after Stalin did this he started to drastically build up his armed forces with the prospect of war getting nearer, this in my opinion was a threat to peace as it might make him want to get involved in a war more if he had a bigger armed forces.

In the middle of my list of threats to peace is Mussolini, here are some of my reasons for this; Mussolini had gained power by getting thousands of followers and threatening the King of Italy with him and his followers marching through the streets of Rome because of this the King of Italy made him prime minister, after that he took all of the power bit by bit, this is a very scary way to gain power in my opinion, and if he was doing these kinds of things in his own country there was no telling what he might do in other countries, this to me makes him a big threat to peace. Also Mussolini said that he wanted to build an empire to rival the Roman Empire of thousands of years before. Hitler and Mussolini had a pretty good relationship to, they were allies and Mussolini and Hitler signed a pact saying they would help each other out in the event of a war, this to me says that Mussolini wants to be the closest ally with Hitler who was occupying land all over Europe, this to me is a big threat to peace, however he was not going round and occupying land himself so he is not as bad if you look at it that way. Mussolini was drastically building up his armed fo
