...of opinion here.? So, I'm preparing to do research for a political inquiry class. I initially wanted to question the trade-offs between environmental policy and economic well-being while simultaneously examining the inconsistant interpretations of environmental policy between state congressional offices.
During my reading, I thought about something I learned in physical anthropology and biology. Does anyone remember the Darwinian theory that there is a positive relationship between food and population?
...Me too...
I don't know that much about the subject, however, do you think that environmental policy will be unsuccessful given that the majority of the world's population is increasing at an increasing rate, thus increasing the demand for even more production and deregulated survival methods (environmental harm)?
We could:
A. Implement standards on births like India and China.
B. Cut the food supply (and test Darwin's theory). To an appropiate, yet inglutunous level (?) (I know, it's crazy extreme, I'm just brainstorming).
C. Create world wide mandated birth control education and subsidizing?
I'm not sure here, can someone give me an opinion? I would hate to move toward a dictating government that disallowed freedoms such as natural rights. Realistically, however, without boundaries how are we to come to societal equalibrium?
I'm confused. Opinions please?
