this is a stretch, but any software solutions to increase brightness of N80 displays?

my old Nokia 6600's display was much brighter than the n80.

only 2 gripes about the N80 in the first week of ownership is the screen brightness, and that unnecessary pop sound when changing mp3s listening through headphones. otherwise i love it!

I don't want to make you sound like a newb, but did you make sure the backlight turned up all the way in the display settings?

Here's something funny, you may be able to do it with new firmware.

The first thing I noticed when I flashed my N80 is that my screen was brighter afterwards. What firmware version are you running?

forgot to add yes its set to the highest brightness level. im running firmware v4.0623.0.41

As far as I know, you have the newest, or at least one of the newer firmwares. My screen got brighter after I flashed the original firmware to a v3 variant. Sorry I can't be of more help.

You could try using simple themes with high contrast and avoiding the ones with heavy imagery.
