Carrier: Cingular, southeastern us
Requirements:
- Good reception. I go to school in the mountains; iffy is not an option.
- Good call VOLUME (rather than quality). I don't care whether I can tell that Uncle Jimmy has a scratchy throat on this particular call, I just want to hear him.
- Solid build quality. This phone WILL be in my pocket most of the time, and it WILL occasionally take the plunge from desk to hardwood floor.
- GSM 850 / 1900. Just the US, I'm not the traveling sort.
- MP3/music player. Quality doesn't matter, I just want something to take with me to the gym.
Preferences:
- Camera better than VGA. I don't NEED to take pictures, but it's always cool to be able to snap a photo of one's friends doing stupid things, and actually be able to tell who's who later on.
- Good battery life. It'd be nice to not have to charge it every single day that I listen to the music player for a half hour or so.
Price:
- Up to a maximum of about $230. I'd prefer in the 175ish range, but I can comfortably go a bit higher if necessary.
Thoughts thus far:
I'm strongly leaning towards a Moto L7, right now. The newer version with the 1.3 mp camera, specifically. It fits nearly all of my criteria, but I'm a bit uneasy because of the issues I've had with my Moto V400. The volume has always been quiet on the V400, and the charger/charger socket has always been extremely finicky. No matter which charger I use (and I have several types, from several companies, including an official moto charger) I have to wiggle it and play with it just right before it'll finally begin to charge. And God help me if I accidentally nudge it. >_< I'm not anxious to repeat these experiences, and if the L7 hasn't improved in both areas, I'll probably pass it by.
Anyway, I've spent a lot of time researching this stuff, and I'd really like some help / advice from you all, since you know a lot more than I do.
Please?
