...should I be angry? My wife wanted to buy a boring sedan but I suggested she buy a sporty car since she will use it to commute to work and cargo room is not needed. We found an online ad for a 2007 S2000 with only 18K miles on it and balance of the factory warranty.
So we walked in and the car was in a showroom because it was so new. I opened the door and suggested she get it and see how she liked it. Then a gentleman named Richard walked up and started to sell me on the car. I politely stopped him and said it was for my wife and only if she liked it we would be buying.
Richard smiled and walked over to the driver's door of the car and said hello to my wife. He asked if she would prefer a car with an automatic transmission. She said something like "Oh no, I am an expert with a stick...I had a prelude in college" as she wiggled the shift knob. Richard started staring at her through the windshield while at the same time licking his lips. I felt a bit uncomfortable so I made eye contact with the wife but she just tilted her head side to side meaning "no don't say anything".
Anyway, we were not to keen on the finance rate they were offering so we wanted to shop our bank before we purchased. After we thanked him I excused myself to the bathroom and my wife met me in our car. On the drive home I was silent about the lip licking thing but then kind of brought it up. My wife laughed and said stuff like that always happens to women who are good looking and I should be proud to have an attractive woman for a wife. She said it is something men can never understand because most men are ugly and most women are too mature to make such gestures.
Then she says while I was in the restroom the subject of doing laundry came up between her and Richard and it turns out he does not understand why colors and whites should be washed separately to prevent bleeding. She says she will go over to his place for a couple of hours each weekend to help him learn how to do the laundry.
Am I reading to much into this?
